TEXTILE SOURCING GUIDE
From sample approval to production: a practical checklist
Sample approval is an important project milestone. A short, shared checklist helps turn the approved product into a clear reference for the next stage.
Confirm the approved version
Identify the sample and specification version being approved. Record outstanding changes explicitly, including whether they require another sample or a documented confirmation.
Bring the details together
Review materials, finished dimensions, colors, construction, artwork, labels and packaging. Confirm quantities by style, size and color against the current purchase documents.
Agree on review points
Discuss the inspection and testing expectations for your program. Identify who reviews reports, who approves changes and how questions will be resolved. Requirements should be agreed for the actual product and sales channel.
Check the delivery information
Confirm the destination, delivery terms, carton information and the documents your shipping partners require. Align milestones with your production and logistics contacts instead of relying on an unconfirmed target date.
Maintain a shared record
Keep the final specification, approved artwork and sample references together. When a change is proposed, document its effect and obtain the appropriate approval before it is treated as final.
